Rainy.

Rainy day here on the north end of Lake Tahoe. I have to head into work in about an hour, and am soooo glad I am working the night shift instead of the day which means I get to stand inside (where it's marginally warmer) instead of out in the drizzly gross rain.

Today has been extra productive for me!
  • Laundry done.
  • House vacuumed.
  • Bathrooms cleaned.
  • Dishes done.
  • Closet organized.
  • Kitchen swept.
And all in the span of 3 short hours! High-five ME! Although I'm not looking forward to changing out of my comfies, I am sort of looking forward to getting back to work. 4 days off in a row and I must admit, I got pretty bored at times. Even bored enough to watch The Human Centipede... Yikes, it must be time to go back to work.

Cheers!

Merry New Year!

4 days until Melly gets here! Woo! I am so freaking excited I can barely contain myself. Christmas this year wasn't so hot for me. It was lonely and cold and I felt like hell to boot. Big time bummer, but I'm bouncing back. All my grocery shopping is done for this weekend and the house is cleaned. I am SO ready. I don't really have much else to report. It snowed some more this weekend (surprise surprise) and I still have yet to make it up boarding. Still need that damn helmet! Anywho, cheers everyone and if you don't hear from me in the next couple of days, have the best New Year's Eve celebration ever!

Flurry Friday

It's Friday evening and I'm sitting at home alone, watching Netflix, and drinking champagne (thank you SaveMart for having one hell of a deal this evening!). It's been snowing the last two days, and I LOVE IT. I talked to my Minnesota-grown grandparents earlier today and they were boggled by the fact that someone would actually WANT to move towards the snow. Haha. Maybe because they moved away as soon as my grandpa retired, I can see where they're coming from, or maybe I'm just weird. Anyways, I have this entire weekend off, and am determined to do something exciting with my time off! Perhaps some boarding? Maybe a trip to the tubing park?! So many possibilities!

As you can see... We're pretty snowy here in Tahoe City this evening. See the green traffic light? My house is literally 100 yards away from there! :)

I hope everyone is staying warm - whether you're down in the snow with me or somewhere in the sun! Cheers!

OH!! Sidenote... you may not see the greenlight... The image will continue to change since it's from one of the TahoeTopia webcams! :)

Breaking the Ice.

We've all done the start something and not finish it, but this go-round, I intend to stay current on this bad boy - partly to keep myself sane, and partly to keep those of you in assorted locations UTD on my little adventure-esque life here in Tahoe.

Unlike my last blog Is that Your Robot Leg?, I'm in a completely different place in my life. I may have had various excursions to report previously, but nowadays, I'm living far and away from good ole Seattle - that doesn't go to say that I don't miss it, because lord knows I do, and I digress.

Since moving to Tahoe City a little over 4 months ago, I have seen a transition within myself and apparently it has been very obvious to those who know me as well. In my sister's words "I like the new you, Em, you seem happy". Mission accomplished. Something in me has gone back to carefree, fun-loving, confident me. Again, mission accomplished. This whole simple living thing is for me, I think.

From here on out, I will attempt to report the variably hilarious goings-on around Tahoe City, Squaw Valley and surrounding areas that come my way. It's undoubtedly going to be one hell of a winter.

Bring on more snow!
